Remembering Coach Gibbs

November 17, 2021

Dear Ramapo Indian Hills and FLOW Families & Community Members:

A sincere thank you to the entire community for the incredible outpouring of support for the Gibbs Family. Coach Gibbs was a pillar of strength and kindness within our community. He was a role model who left an indelible mark on those who knew him that will stand the test of time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gibbs family during this difficult time.

The Ramapo High School community is devastated by the passing of our beloved Coach Gibbs. He was much more than a terrific football coach. He was a mentor, supporter, and cheerleader for everyone. He was a wonderful human being and genuinely cared about the students. We will miss him greatly. - The Ramapo High School Student Government

We are mourning the loss of Coach Drew Gibbs who was taken from our community and his family way too soon. Coach Gibbs was an exemplary member of the RIH and FLOW family and knew how to bring about the best from his students and athletes. We all know the lasting impact a caring and principled educator or coach can make during our high school years. Coach Gibbs was a gift to our community far beyond his success on the football field. His greatest gift is his lasting legacy on the many young minds and peer educators he has taught and with those whom he shared his leadership, integrity, and kindness so that they could go into the world to share those same gifts with others, to make wherever they ventured a better place. It is upon our community to honor and remember him by living up to and teaching others the principles that made him such an outstanding leader. Our condolences and caring are with the Gibbs family and the entire FLOW Community as we mourn together. Coach Gibbs built a culture beyond the game and his loss is great, but his memory will live on. - RIH Board of Education

Coach Gibbs would want nothing more than to remind us to continue to Do What We Do and stay together As One. Let us continue to have the lessons that he inspired in his students and all those he came into contact with to endure. #DWWD #AsOne

We wish for peace and healing for the Gibbs family, our students, our staff, and the entire community.
