Senior Prom Information

May 6, 2021

Dear Seniors and Senior Parents/Guardians,

We are very excited to share with you that we are moving forward with our plans for senior prom!  We truly appreciate your patience during the prom planning process and are so happy to share the details of the event with you. That said, we also recognize and respect that some of our students will not feel comfortable participating in large gatherings, and that is perfectly okay.  We believe that it is important to offer the senior class opportunities to be together, to celebrate their accomplishments, and to make memories—and that seniors should make their own decisions regarding whether or not they would like to attend the events.

The Class of 2021 is proud of its tradition of class spirit and cooperation at school functions. We expect the prom to be equally successful. The senior prom will be held indoors at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, NJ from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Thursday, June 10th.  Attire for the dinner-dance is formal.  This will be an event for Ramapo seniors only. Outside guests and students from other grades will not be permitted to attend.  While we know that this is disappointing news for some of you, ensuring everyone’s safety during the pandemic is of the utmost importance.  Additional COVID protocols are listed in the attachments below.  We appreciate your understanding and promise to make this a special night for the senior class to be together!

Please remember that the Prom is a school activity, and all school rules and policies apply.   If a student becomes sick or unable to physically cope with the evening’s activity, the parent/guardian will be notified to pick up the child. Students arriving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance will not be admitted, and the parent/guardian will be notified immediately to pick up the child.

Students are responsible for having their own transportation to the event.  Please know that school administration will be searching limousines and other vehicles upon arrival at The Castle. In the event that any alcohol or controlled substances are found, the entire party will be sent home.  Additionally, please note that once students leave the prom, they will not be granted re-entry.

Tickets will be on sale in Room 817 at 11:55 (during the lunch break) on Tuesday, May 11th and Wednesday, May 12th at the price of $120 per person. Checks are to be made out to Ramapo High School with “Senior Prom” & the name(s) of the student(s) to which the check pertains on the memo linePlease carefully review the submission requirements for purchasing tickets as described in the attachments below.

Prom day, June 10th, is a school day. As such, attendance at school is required.  Students must be on time and may leave after our pre-prom meeting which will be held during period 5.  Early dismissal is scheduled for the end of period 5 (11:31am). Parental permission is necessary to confirm early dismissal for all students, regardless of whether or not they are attending prom. If students are not in their classes (physically or virtually) on June 10th, they will not be permitted to attend the Prom. Additionally, June 11th, the day after prom, is a school day; any absences on this day will be unexcused.

Please note that no tickets will be sold after May 12th and no changes to table arrangements can be made after May 12th as all information needs to be reported to our venue and we need to ensure that we are able to plan for our event to be as COVID-safe as possible.

If you have any questions about the Senior Prom, please do not hesitate to contact us directly via email. Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and support.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Myones & Mr. Quirk
