It is with great pleasure that we announce the hiring of Sean Maldonato as the next Head Coach of Ramapo HighSchool’s Girls Flag Football team. Coach Maldonato is a Physical Education, Health and Driver Education teacher at Ramapo High School who has a passion for developing our students both cognitively and physically.  He is dedicated to creating a positive environment for our students and teams to flourish, learn and work together. Coach Maldonato stresses the importance of all students having a positive experience, all while reflecting the Ramapo Indian Hills High School District’s tradition of competitiveness, high character, and success. 

Coach Maldonato played football at Lakeland Regional High School where he was a two-year starter and an all-conference honoree. He went on to play four years of Division 3 football at William Paterson University where he was a three-year starter on defense, two-year team captain, and a member of the student athlete mentorship program for each of his four years at the university. Coach Maldonato was both an athletic and academic all-Conference honoree, as well as a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Student Athlete Honor Society. 

Coach Maldonato has several years of experience coaching football camps at both the college and high school levels. In the spring of 2022, he coached on the William Paterson University football staff as the running backs coach, as well as the signal caller for their offense. He also served as the JV head golf coach for Ramapo. In the fall of 2022, Coach Maldonato helped lead the Ramapo freshman football team to an 8-2 record, assisting the freshman team as the defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach, running backs coach, and strength and conditioning coach. 
“I want to express my gratitude towards the Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education and Ramapo High School’s administration for giving me the opportunity to lead the girls flag football team for the 2023 spring season. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Ramapo community and will work hard to continue its tradition of excellence, high character, and integrity. I am looking forward to working with members of the Ramapo-Indian Hills community to continue to build upon the tradition of excellence within our program”, said Coach Maldonato.
