Temporary Use of Student Parking Lot as a Pick-up Zone

REMINDER

Under the current traffic circulation scheme leading up to, around, and out of the rotary, there is generally insufficient frontage to simultaneously accommodate all parking needs and traffic flow.  

In an attempt to alleviate and mitigate some of our traffic overflow and space constraint issues at dismissal time, parents are allowed to access the upper student parking lot to pickup their children. 

As a result of authorized senior student early dismissals, as many as seventy-five parking spaces become available for use near the end of the school day. Parents are encouraged to park and wait in any of these available spaces for their child to exit the school. 

As a general rule, please practice courtesy and be mindful of pedestrians, especially when accessing and departing the student parking lot. Parking in spaces not clearly marked or double parking will be strictly enforced by local authorities.    

Ways to ease congestion:

• Allow buses the right of way and access to the drop-off/pick-up areas first
• Keep the traffic moving as much as possible
• Please drive as far forward as you can towards the gymnasium entrance doors when dropping off in the morning
• Pull up close, but at a safe distance to the car in front of you
• Do not cut in line, pass other cars, or take short cuts
• If you have to wait in a no parking zone, stay to the right, close to the yellow curb, and do not leave your car unattended
• When picking up at dismissal, do not idle/wait in the pedestrian crosswalk or fire zones
