In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month this April, students at Ramapo High School participated in interactive activities designed to foster a culture of respect and understanding.

Engaging with Consent and Boundaries

Last week, the Ramapo cafeteria became a hub for meaningful dialogue. Facilitated by Student Assistance Counselors Jasmen Mantashian and Rebecca Cornell, students engaged with the "Spin the Conversation" wheel.

This activity encouraged participants to answer questions and discuss topics related to:

  • Healthy Boundaries: Understanding personal space and emotional limits.
  • Clear Consent: Navigating communication in social interactions.
  • Building Awareness: Sparking approachable conversations about difficult topics in a safe, peer-led environment.

District-Wide Participation

The initiative is a collaborative effort across the district. Following the success of the Ramapo event, Indian Hills High School is scheduled to host the same interactive activity on Monday, April 27, ensuring that students across both schools have the opportunity to engage with these vital lessons.

Through these events, the district continues to prioritize student well-being and the development of healthy, respectful relationship skills.
