RIH Community,
Today we grieve for the victims and the families impacted by the school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.
The health and safety of our staff and students is of paramount importance. Please know that we work closely with our local law enforcement agencies to ensure the health and wellbeing of our school community.
This year we welcome our Class III Special Law Enforcement Officer program through our shared services agreement with the Boroughs of Franklin Lakes and Oakland.
Officer Michael Devine joins Ramapo High School after recently retiring from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office where he served as the SWAT Team Commander. Officer Paul Stettner joins our Indian Hills team after recently retiring as a Sergeant with the Allendale Police Department where he served as their Field Training and D.A.R.E officer.
Officers Devine and Stettner will work collaboratively with our administrative team and our unarmed security staff to help ensure a safe learning environment for our students, and a safe workplace for our faculty and staff.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Board of Education for their fierce commitment to school safety by supporting the Class III Special Law Enforcement Program in our schools and the planned upgrades to our video surveillance and public address systems.
