Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am pleased to invite you to our Back-to-School night, which will be held on Thursday, September 14th beginning at 7:00 P.M.  The evening is a great opportunity to visit our school, meet our outstanding faculty, and get a sense of student life at Ramapo.

To help you to make the most of your visit, please follow these procedures:

1. Upon arrival, report directly to your student's homeroom/first period classroom.  From here you will follow an "B" day schedule.  If you arrive late, you can pick up a copy of the schedule in the cafeteria.  All physical education and health classes should report to the upper gym except for sophomore parents, who should report to their health classrooms.

2. When your student's schedule indicates lunch, study hall, or commons, you may tour the building or visit the cafeteria where refreshments will be available.  Student and community organizations will be on hand to answer questions about their programs.  (This is a great time to join the APTS and do your part to support our school!)

3. In addition, tutorials on Genesis and Schoology will be available in the library computer room. You may also report to the conference room directly across from guidance for assistance with Naviance.

4. The following downloads are available before your visit to help you plan your evening:

                  Back to School Night Schedule

                  Blank Schedule

                  Ancillary Parking Lots

Note: Traffic congestion can be severe and parking in the upper lots is extremely limited.

To alleviate congestion, the following measures have been put in place:

Guests arriving before 6:30 P.M. can park in the upper lot (space permitting). However, the Franklin Lakes Police will close the upper lot at 6:30 P.M. and no vehicular traffic will be allowed on George Street or Mabel Avenue after that time.  (Handicap spaces will remain available.)

Additional parking will be available at the lower/athletic lot, and offsite parking will be available at Bethany Church, and Grace Methodist Church.

Shuttle bus service will be provided from the off campus sites starting at 6:30 P.M.  Return service to these lots will begin at 8:00 P.M.  Any families with special parking needs should contact Mr. Smith at 201-891-1500, ext. 2224 so accommodations can be made.

In addition to these steps, I strongly encourage parents to carpool and arrive at school early, as we will need to begin our program promptly at 7:00 P.M.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone on September 14th!

Very kind regards,

Travis Smith

Principal
